Sitemap Analytics & Insights

Paste the URL of a live XML sitemap. We'll fetch it and build a full analytics report — URL patterns, lastmod/changefreq/priority coverage, and SEO recommendations.

FAQ

What does the analytics report cover?

Total URL count, the percentage missing <lastmod>, a breakdown of <changefreq> values, the average <priority>, counts of invalid <changefreq>/<priority> entries, a path-depth distribution across your URLs, and a list of SEO recommendations based on all of that.

Can I analyze a sitemap index file?

No — this tool analyzes one page-level sitemap (a <urlset>) at a time. If you point it at a <sitemapindex>, it tells you so and you should re-run it against one of that index's child sitemap URLs.

What is 'path depth' and why does it matter?

It's the number of segments in a URL's path (e.g. /blog/post-1 has depth 2). A distribution skewed toward deep paths can signal content that's hard for both crawlers and visitors to reach.
