Quickstart
From an empty account to a bot answering visitors on your own site, in five steps.
What you are about to do
HelpBrain reads the pages you already have and answers your visitors from them. There is no knowledge base to write and no decision tree to draw. The whole job is: show it your content, check what it learned, and put one line of HTML on your site.
Note
Steps 1 to 4 take about ten minutes of your attention, plus crawling time that runs on its own — a few minutes for a small site, longer for a large one. Step 5 takes two minutes and is the only one that touches your website.
The five steps
Create your account
Sign up and start your trial. You do not need a card to get a bot answering questions, and you do not need to install anything to try it.
Point it at your website
Paste your domain. Our reader follows your sitemap and links from there, and reads every page it can reach — help pages, pricing, product pages, policies. It also reads PDFs your site links to, so a linked price list becomes answerable knowledge like any other page.
You can add files (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, Markdown), individual URLs, or pasted text now or at any time later. Most people start with the website alone and add the rest once they see what is missing.
Ask it three real questions
Open the playground and ask the three questions your customers actually ask most. This is the fastest possible read on whether your content covers what people want, and it takes a minute.
A good answer cites the page it came from. If the bot says it is not sure and offers to hand off, that is not a bug — it is the confidence gate doing its job, and it is telling you the answer is not on any page it has read.
Fill whatever is missing
If a question had no answer, the content did not exist. Add the page or file that covers it, paste the answer as text, or correct the bot directly — a correction is remembered and used for that question from then on.
Install the widget
Copy the one line from your install page and paste it before the closing body tag on your site. There are step-by-step guides for ten platforms, and a button that checks the install for you.
Paste before </body><script src="https://helpbrain.net/w/YOUR_BOT_KEY.js" async></script>
What happens after that
Once it is live, the product runs a loop you only have to check in on:
- Every night, the reader re-crawls your site so the answers follow your content when it changes.
- Every night, a second model re-reads the answers your bot gave real visitors and checks each one against your pages. Anything it cannot support turns up in your inbox as an answer to check.
- When the bot is not confident, it says so and hands the visitor to you rather than guessing — and that question lands in your inbox too.
- Answer one of those questions once, and every future visitor who asks it gets your answer.
